The Catholic tradition hold the Integrity of the WHOLE tradition, all of them, all branches. The byzantine, the coptic, and the latin tradition, "varietas in concordia". The doctrine, and the unitiy with the petrine See is the same, but, the particular things (canonical law, spirituality, devotions etc.) different, as the Body has got different parts. Here is the real - anti-modernist - latin tradition: w w w . t r i d e n t i n u m . c o m

For my dear Unurautare... Have you ecer heard Photius? He was a catholic civilian, who later been Patriarch (by a political clan), than he consecrated. Than he would be a scismatic... He spilt from the Petrine See.

for my dear Transleithania :) : ever heared of Martin Luther?he is the one that started protestantism,he was a catholic(priest or monk I think)before that,he became disgusted of the catholic church and its ways, and now England,Germany,Norway, etc. are protestant countries,so they did divide(because they were catholics) or split as you say,I guess that works as well ;) and what canonical problems are you refering at?please give me some more detailes

Dear Unurautare, Catholics said, that the protestant aren't Catholic. So ridiculous just saying: "Catholics divided." Catholics - in the Catholic faith - who is in unitiy with the See of Peter of Rome. In the Catholic thought, protestant are heretics, who spilt from the Jesus-want petrine-throne. And there's canonical problem in the Orthodox Communion: the iurisdiction of Basarabia, Estonia etc... Who is the Judge?

you are right also but I think the "ceremonies" are the same in every orthodox church, and the fact that russians have remained by the 'Old Calendar' and we romanians, for example, have adopted the new calendar doesn't make either,us or the russians, less or more orthodox, but the protestand do contest a lot of catholic 'values' and vice versa & that is a real split ;)

Not really. We've had numerous schisms and splits, tho none as quite as serious or widespread as Protestantism. Old Believers, Old Calendarists, etc... just to name a few. Ukraine for example, is full of Churches not in communion with each other
