Description:
Sunday September 17, 2006, around 12:00 AM, a King County helicopter (I think it was "Guardian One") was spotted circling over the Somerset / Eastgate neighborhood, near Factoria. Unknown the reason. A Bellevue police car was seen quickly leaving (without emergency lights or siren on) from a home where people three people were standing outside and a white car was idling. The helicopter appeared to be shining its spot light in that vicinity. The helicopter then was seen leaving the residential area. Using a police scanner I learned that the helicopter was called away to help in a high speed chase that ended near/in Federal Way. As I said before, I could not find out what this was all about. If you know, please leave a comment. Note: sorry about shaking and zoom-in / zooming-out. I had a hard time focusing and I thought zooming in and out would help the auto-focus. But then I decided to manually focus it, thus the shaking. Thanks for watching. |

AuntBee09 ::: Favorites that's really cool that you're part of KC search and rescue . . . bet you've been buzy lately with all the flooding and high winds. i don't think this was a search and rescue helicpter tho because it was shining its spot light on a house and i know (from my police scanner) that it was called away to help in a high speed chase . . . maybe search and rescue helicopters do that, i have no idea lol. thanx for commenting 06-11-16 12:58:21 _____________________________________________________
bcd760 ::: Favorites I don't think they do our heli's only really go out during the day with heat radar. Unless its really important. So it is prolly bellevue police or KC police. Maybe even the state. 06-11-16 13:16:53 _____________________________________________________
xnvyflyer ::: Favorites OK, I have to ask. What is "heat radar?" 07-02-11 02:22:50 _____________________________________________________
AgentHog ::: Favorites It is out of my mind ATM. But it picks up the heat of humans and you can see the person on the screen with there body heat. 07-02-11 02:27:24 _____________________________________________________
xnvyflyer ::: Favorites Alright, you must be talking about infrared devices, also known as FLIR (Forward Looking InfraRed) or thermal imaging. They detect heat differential. This is a passive system and is not associated in any way with radar which actually emits radiation. RADAR is an acronym for RAdio Detection And Ranging. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. 07-02-11 17:12:26 _____________________________________________________
