bwhahrhr ::: Favorites 2007-12-15 13:52:53 If I would have come up with that, I would be so proud of myself - I would wear clothes similar to Napoleon and propably would crown my self too - so ... (: __________________________________________________
MBRHIndustries ::: Favorites 2007-12-15 13:48:47 lol, wordplay. __________________________________________________
SohoSquare ::: Favorites 2007-12-14 17:52:08 LOL - that is funny. Warhol did some good work but I think he must have been taking the piss regarding some of his films. :) __________________________________________________
bwhahrhr ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 22:27:52 depends I guess on how you see it. actualy Beuys made music but I am not a fan of that (: __________________________________________________

bwhahrhr ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 19:21:28 to rephrase my german teacher after me asking him why grammer/spelling error matter: "a society without rules what is that? just a bunch of apes!" my best friends reply to it: "And why do we have weapons and bonobo-apes corpulate to solve their problems?" he was stumped (: __________________________________________________
13thDimension ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 19:18:36 the point of language is communication....if that is being achieved...what does arbitrary rules matter? __________________________________________________
bwhahrhr ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 19:17:58 #2 I had once a experience similar to yours, it involved two of my art-teachers and the movie "cowboys" from Warhol. (just a bunch of cowboys touching them and a horse in privat places while saying cowboy stuff) One hated and was complaining about it until the other told him its a warhol movie and then both started to talk about how amazing this is and what a great artist warhol is - still have to giggle everytime I think about that (: __________________________________________________
bwhahrhr ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 19:16:09 dont tell me please! otherwise all these years of grammar-torture will be wasted for nothing ;) __________________________________________________
bwhahrhr ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 19:13:36 #1 "One man's art is another man's fart" so true. I share your view on art a lot - if it lets me cold then I dont care about it. But what ever rocks peoples/artists boat - I only find people like the art critics with their "vibrant reds" realy anoying and yet still entertaing at the same time (: __________________________________________________
SohoSquare ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 19:06:14 ... 9 out of 10 critics LOVED the work. I remember one critic saying "These red splotches are so vibrant. I think they symbolize love. They're like strawberries". In the corner of the screen you saw the chimpanzee with his fists in red paint and then upon the canvas. Beuys is an ape :-) __________________________________________________
SohoSquare ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 19:05:51 I agree with those people though. It may be considered art by some - but it isn't for me until it speaks to me. And it doesn't. One man's art is another man's fart, I guess. Once saw a programme on the telly (when I was about 15 - so going back a bit) about a show who played tricks on people. They gave a chimpanzee paints and canvases and then they asked art critics in London to review his work - lying about the artist and saying it was a young student from Russia... __________________________________________________
bwhahrhr ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 18:48:41 I watched it once in a gallery-opening and the outrage it created 2002 was hilarious! Loads of wanna-be artsy people that first cheered when they heared Beuys and then yelled loudly: "Thats not art, everyone can do that". (and since then I love beuys) (wanna-be artsy is not a reference to you!) But I never was able to watch the whole thing (exept then) in one take - tedious like tv itself (: __________________________________________________
SohoSquare ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 18:34:30 LOL - thanks for the link. I watched a few minutes of it and reckon that it could have been done in a couple of minutes. If each minute drummed the message home, that would be fine - but it becomes tedious .. a bit like tv itself. Still, I'm impressed that his criticism of television was so early (1970). __________________________________________________
13thDimension ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 18:28:15 proper grammar is highly overrated :) __________________________________________________ |
