Kimeru ::: Favorites Eh, just listen to any J-pop song, or for the matter, music in general. Dakishimeru can pretty much hold the meaning of to embrace, to hold, to hug or to hold to. If you think of it this way, it's not unusual for it to appear often. Although, I do believe Gackt has a particular liking for particular words or phrases. Not the case here, I believe though. Every single one is about losing someone, and in his Malice Mizer days, personification is used way too much. Although if that's a 90's kink, that's fine with me. I mean, look up the lyrics to his songs. You'll see much similarity with most. I just think "to hold" is too overused. But what can you do? sushidroid ::: Favorites Well, I think lyrics in every genre are "cliche" in this age of commercial music; everything is being done to death. That's just how it is. As for the "dakishimeru" debate, it may sound repetitive to non-native Japanese speakers; for a change (not a perfect analogy), think how English has one word for "love" while Japanese has three (thereby the English may seem "really repetitive" by comparison). 07-08-14 19:10:35 _____________________________________________________
